When the spark travels down the fuse of a fireworks – we anticipate the beautiful explosion. We know the fire will come, but we are still surprised when it shoots forth. We have experienced the spectacle before, but we are amazed by the beauty every time.

Christmas Eve

A young fellow of about 12 was included in the Christmas Eve service last night. He is a keyboard student of the music minister who gets this teen to play in church every now and then. The congregation really loves to have the young people participate in service. He played a jazzy arrangement of “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear”. Towards the end, a tricky part tripped him up. He attacked the passage three or four times before he got it right and went on to the finish. There was a hearty round of applause for him, but he hung his head as he returned to his pew.
